Overview <\/h3>\n

The WHO South-East Asia Regional Certification Commission for Poliomyelitis Eradication (SEA-RCCPE) provides independent oversight to the polio eradication programme in the South-East Asia Region.<\/p>\n

The Commission meets annually to review reports submitted by the National Certification Committees for Poliomyelitis Eradication (NCCPEs) of Member States, and to assess progress in maintaining wild poliovirus-free status, monitoring vaccine-derived polioviruses, advancing poliovirus laboratory containment, and implementing polio transition activities.<\/p>\n

This report presents the conclusions and recommendations of the SEA-RCCPE from its nineteenth meeting held in June 2026. The Commission concluded that the WHO South-East Asia Region maintains its polio-free status and that there is no evidence of wild poliovirus (WPV) circulation in the Region. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n
