It outlines the government’s longstanding administrative restrictions on freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) and highlights recent developments and religious freedom violations. In its 2026 Annual Report, USCIRF recommended Turkey for placement on the Special Watch List for severe violations of religious freedom.
