Overview <\/h3>\n

This public health advice addresses the need for tailored measures to help prevent and control the spread of Bundibugyo virus (BVD) among people living in camps and camp-like settings. It outlines practical context-specific advice on nine themes: BVD transmission; access to treatment; infection prevention and control measures; access to water, sanitation and hygiene; communication, engagement and support; safe and dignified burials; protection and support for the most vulnerable; protecting the health workforce; stigma, discrimination and exclusion; and mental health and psychosocial support.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n

The advice is intended for authorities, service providers, outbreak responders and others working with internally displaced people, refugees and migrants. It should be adapted to local circumstances in consultation with camp authorities, displaced populations and host communities. Meaningful engagement with affected populations is essential for identifying acceptable and workable solutions, understanding local concerns and establishing effective feedback mechanisms.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

This publication is based on current evidence and good public health practices and is intended to complement guidance from national health authorities and humanitarian partners.<\/p>\n
