They have lasting consequences for women\u2019s cardiovascular health and contribute to stillbirth, preterm birth, newborn mortality and morbidity, and health-system costs. The burden is inequitable, with women and newborns in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) disproportionately affected by gaps in access to quality care. Despite progress against other causes of maternal mortality, deaths from hypertensive disorders have declined too slowly over the past three decades, highlighting the need for coordinated action.\n<\/p>\n<p>WHO, together with partners and stakeholders, developed the Global Roadmap for Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy 2026\u20132035 and beyond. It sets a shared vision and coordinated actions across five areas: research and innovation; norms and standards; access to health products; implementation; and advocacy and accountability. The Roadmap aims to accelerate progress towards ending preventable maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity and stillbirth associated with hypertensive disorders, while contributing to SDG targets 3.1 and 3.2.
