The UNFPA, UNICEF, UN-Women, PAHO and NBEC Maternal Health Analysis of Women and Girls of African Descent in the Americas\u00a0brings together for the first time, comparative data across the Americas on the situation of Afrodescendant women\u2019s maternal health. It finds that Afrodescendant women and girls are disadvantaged before, during and after pregnancy. Afrodescendant women and girls\u2019 maternal deaths are particularly alarming.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The analysis provides action oriented recommendations\u00a0to reduce maternal mortality and ensure\u00a0the highest attainable standard of maternal health for girls\u00a0and women of African descent in the Americas in the short\u00a0and medium terms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article><\/div><\/div>\n
