Overview <\/h3>\n

In 2025, global efforts to control and eliminate neglected tropical diseases (NTDs)
\nthrough large-scale medicine donation
\nand procurement entered a critical phase.
\nSince 2011, more than 31 billion tablets
\nand vials have been distributed worldwide, including almost 1.5 billion in 2025
\nalone. The unprecedented scale
\nof these operations has expanded the
\nlogistical, financial and technical complex\u0002ity of NTD medicine management. This
\nreport provides an overview of strategic
\nobjectives, key achievements, operational
\nchallenges and emerging priorities in
\nNTD medicine procurement and supply
\nchain management. It highlights evolving
\nmechanisms led by WHO and its partners
\nto strengthen national ownership, enhance
\nforecasting accuracy, integrate digital
\nsystems and mitigate supply risks, in
\nalignment with the 2030 NTD road map
\ntargets.<\/p>\n
