Overview <\/h3>\n

Health emergencies are increasingly frequent, complex and interconnected\u2014and their impacts are felt first at the level of primary health care.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Emergency Ready Primary Health Care (ERPHC) Framework<\/strong> presents a comprehensive, all\u2011hazards approach to embedding emergency readiness within routine primary health care systems. Grounded in the principles of universal health coverage and aligned with global health security and emergency preparedness frameworks, ERPHC strengthens four interconnected capacities\u2014connect, detect, protect and treat<\/strong>\u2014to enable faster detection and response, safer care for communities and health workers, and sustained service delivery during crises.<\/p>\n

Designed for use across national, subnational, facility and community levels, the framework provides a strategic foundation to integrate emergency preparedness, response and resilience into everyday PHC operations. By translating global commitments into practical frontline capacities, ERPHC supports countries to build equitable, resilient and people\u2011centred health systems that are ready to act before, during and after emergencies.<\/p>\n
