Overview <\/h3>\n

This report presents an independent evaluation of WHO global health days and weeks conducted for the period 2019\u20132023, assessing their relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, coherence, coverage and sustainability. These campaigns are a key strategy used by WHO to raise awareness of priority public health issues and mobilize action at global, regional and national levels. The evaluation examines 11 mandated global health days and two weeks, drawing on mixed methods including document review, surveys, interviews and case studies to assess planning processes, implementation and outcomes.\n<\/p>\n

Findings indicate that the campaigns remain broadly aligned with evolving health priorities and contribute to visibility, advocacy, behaviour change and partnerships, but face challenges related to prioritization, coordination, resource allocation and measurement of results. While the campaigns reach wide audiences through multiple channels, limitations persist in targeting specific populations, ensuring consistent messaging and assessing long-term impact. The report highlights the need for improved strategic focus, stronger monitoring and evaluation frameworks, enhanced coordination across WHO levels and partners, and more sustainable resourcing. It aims to support organizational learning and inform future improvements in the design and implementation of global health campaigns.<\/p>\n
