Overview <\/h3>\n

Prevention and Control of Diabetes Mellitus: Lessons for Service Delivery from Countries in the WHO South-East Asia Region presents practical experiences and evidence-informed solutions from countries that are strengthening diabetes prevention, early detection, treatment and long-term care through innovative and integrated approaches. The publication provides an overview of the diabetes burden in the Region and the corresponding health system responses, while showcasing country case studies from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Timor-Leste. <\/p>\n

These experiences highlight scalable approaches for integrating diabetes services into primary health care, strengthening community engagement, leveraging digital health and information systems, improving access to essential medicines and diagnostics, and addressing diabetes across the life course. Drawing on field experiences and policy analysis, the publication offers actionable lessons for policymakers, programme managers, practitioners and partners working to accelerate progress towards global diabetes coverage targets and Sustainable Development Goal 3.4. The report also reflects the Region\u2019s commitment under the SEAHEARTS initiative and the Colombo Call to Action to strengthen prevention and control of diabetes in WHO South-East Asia Region.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n
