This publication outlines systematic and ongoing religious freedom violations in the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighting legal restrictions as well as recent violations that Kyrgyz officials have committed against independent Muslims and Christians from unregistered communities. In its 2026 Annual Report, USCIRF recommended that the U.S. Department of State include the Kyrgyz Republic on its Special Watch List.
